Lagos, Nigeria – The Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest oil refinery, has commenced the export of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petroleum, to Cameroon.
This milestone was achieved through a strategic collaboration with Neptune Oil, a leading energy company in Cameroon.
In a statement, the Dangote Group highlighted the significance of this achievement in strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and Cameroon while addressing the growing energy demands of the region.
“This first export of PMS to Cameroon is a tangible demonstration of our vision for a united and energy-independent Africa,” said Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of the Dangote Group. “With this development, we are laying the foundation for a future where African resources are refined and exchanged within the continent for the benefit of our people.”
Antoine Ndzengue, Director and Owner of Neptune Oil, described the partnership as a transformative moment for Cameroon. “By becoming the first importer of petroleum products from this world-class refinery, we are bolstering our country’s energy security and supporting local economic development. This initial supply, executed without international intermediaries, reflects our commitment to serving our markets independently and efficiently,” he noted.
The collaboration between the two companies goes beyond this initial export. According to a statement from Dangote, both firms are exploring initiatives to establish a reliable supply chain, with the aim of stabilizing fuel prices and fostering economic opportunities across the region.
