European Commission’s Eligibility Criteria
Reports indicate that the programme is open to both EU and non-EU citizens. To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Possess at least a bachelor’s degree and be prepared to present diplomas or certificates showcasing their final grades.
- Have limited prior experience, with no more than six weeks of work within any EU institution, body or agency, delegation, or having worked with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) or Advocates General at the Court of Justice of the European Union (EUCJ).
- For the administrative traineeship, candidates must demonstrate an excellent command of two EU official languages. One must be a working language—namely, English, French, or German—at C1 or C2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, while the second should be at least at B2 level. Non-EU nationals are only required to have proficiency in one procedural language at the C1 or C2 level.
