Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that the situation had been brought under control.
The looting comes against the backdrop of mounting discontent among Nigerians over the removal of fuel subsidies and the devaluation of the national currency, implemented by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
These economic measures have resulted in soaring prices of goods and services, exacerbating the already high rate of inflation in the country.
