Family members of Mr. Gift Azunwena, have accused the Meridien Hospital in Port Harcourt of refusing to Treat him of gunshots injuries 48 hours after he was shot.

Mr. Azunwena, who is one of the managers of Comedian Sabinus, was shot on Tuesday by yet to be identified gunmen at the Palace Lounge in Port Harcourt before he was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

His elder brother, Mr Fine Azunwena, who spoke to REPORT AFRIQUE, said the hospital delayed treatment on him for 48 hours before he was then asked to produce a police report before treatment can commense on him.

“The incident happened at the Palace Lounge on Tuesday night. We rushed him to Meridien Hospitals at Okoroji street, Dline, Port Harcourt.”

” A surgeon was only brought him after 48 hours and was stopped again from removing bullets from his body. They asked us to first produce a police report before the treatment can commence.” Mr. Azunwena told our reporter.

He further stated that his brother has lost alot of blood and was in serious pains.

The Nigeria police has repeatedly said gunshot victims should ot be required to produce a police report before treatment can commense on them.

Mr AAzunwena is also the CEO of Ichewealth Limited, a talent management and entertainment firm in Port Harcourt. He was recently enrolled into the team of popular comedian Sabunus.
