United Kingdom – London-based Nigerian pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, founder of the Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation), has declared that he would have greater influence in Nigeria than in the United Kingdom, following a deportation order over an alleged £1.87 million fraud charge.

The UK immigration upper tribunal recently approved Adegboyega’s deportation, citing visa overstaying and allegations of fraud. However, the pastor has firmly denied the fraud claims, describing them as “baseless and unsubstantiated.”

In a preview of his appearance on the Off The Record podcast, Adegboyega commented on his achievements and the allegations against his church. “We are the largest independent church in the UK and Europe right now,” he stated. “If I am in Nigeria, I will be bigger than this, 10x maybe. If I am in Paris, I will be happier. It’s holiday for me. London will miss me, so you better tell them, we still need this guy, nobody is close to us entertaining us.”

Defense of Lavish Lifestyle

Adegboyega, 44, has previously defended his opulent lifestyle, which has faced scrutiny in light of his deportation case. During tribunal hearings, he explained that his lifestyle is funded entirely by his wife, Mary Olubukola Alade, who earns £100,000 annually as an employee of AON.

“I live with my partner, who supports me entirely,” Adegboyega stated, adding that his extravagant displays are meant to inspire young members of his congregation by demonstrating legitimate pathways to wealth, particularly through entrepreneurship.

The pastor, who entered the UK on a visitor’s visa in 2005, noted that he holds a first-class law degree from Nigeria but chose to dedicate his life to ministry. He denied any misuse of church funds, claiming his luxury items, including designer clothing and vehicles, were purchased by Alade. “I have never profited from church funds,” he asserted.

The pastor’s comments and the ongoing legal battles have sparked widespread discussions about his legacy and the future of SPAC Nation, which he claims remains one of the most successful independent churches in Europe.
