In a targeted operation spanning Oshodi and its vicinity, the Lagos State Police Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has detained 43 individuals, unveiling a semi-automatic pistol during a separate sweep on Tuesday night, April 10, 2024.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, disclosed that the crackdown, orchestrated across Anthony, Bolade Oshodi, and Oshodi Terminus, was propelled by actionable intelligence concerning the activities of criminal elements in these areas.
“The pistol retrieval occurred in Opebi, Ikeja, when Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, dispatched a team to corroborate tips furnished by vigilant members of the public,” Hundeyin affirmed.
He further clarified, “Among the 43 apprehended suspects, rigorous scrutiny identified their complicity. Additionally, the operation yielded two 9mm caliber firearms and an expended ammunition.”
Hundeyin affirmed that the detained individuals will promptly face legal proceedings.
