The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects for allegedly stealing 96 bags of rice from a businessman in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
Commissioner of Police Umar Nadada paraded the suspects, Auwal Abubakar, Danrimi Mohammed, and Habibu Adamu, along with 28 other suspected criminals, at the command’s headquarters on Tuesday.
The suspects were caught after a truck driver reported that his vehicle was attacked by armed men, who made off with some bags of rice. The officers pursued the hoodlums and intercepted their vehicle, recovering the stolen rice and a Citroen Bus.
The suspects claimed they were merely transporters and did not know the rice was stolen. The security operative have warned all criminal elements to leave the state and vowed to charge the suspects to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
The command also recovered 1,080 pieces of ammunition, laptops, phones, magazines, motorcycles, and firearms in various operations.
