In a dramatic turn of events, a new ward executive committee has emerged in Ganduje ward, Tofa Local Government Area, Kano State, suspending All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.
This development comes just a week after Ganduje was suspended by another faction of the party executives in his ward, led by Haladu Gwanjo, citing alleged corruption and other offenses.
The new ward exco, led by Secretary Jaafar Adamu, claims to be the authentic executives, legally elected on July 31, 2021. They have imposed a fresh suspension on Ganduje, citing reasons such as:
- Failure to pay statutory party dues
- Creating internal conflict among party members
- Anti-party activities during the 2023 general elections
Adamu, who is also a nephew to the former governor of Kano State, dismissed the two factions claiming to be executives as impostors, orchestrated by Ganduje and other party elements.
This latest development deepens the crisis rocking the APC, with Ganduje facing mounting challenges to his leadership.
