APC will take over Rivers State - new Party chairman

Chief Tony Okocha Elected as New Chairman of Rivers State APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has announced the election of Chief Tony Okocha as its new chairman. Okocha, who previously served as the caretaker committee chairman for the party, was elected unopposed along with other members of the executive during the state delegate congress held in Port Harcourt on Saturday.

In his inaugural address, Okocha expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, stating that they are poised to take control of the state in the 2027 elections. He praised President Bola Tinubu for his significant accomplishments in office, particularly highlighting the resumption of petroleum production at the Port Harcourt Refinery. Okocha emphasized that the APC is committed to intensifying efforts to secure victories in all upcoming elections across Rivers State.

“Those who have claimed that the APC cannot conduct elections are mistaken,” Okocha asserted. “We will conduct elections, win them, and govern in Rivers State. Our mandate is to eliminate the ineffective governance we currently experience here.”

He called on party supporters to rally behind the APC, as their collective goal is to ensure that the party governs Rivers State by 2027.

Victor Giadom, the APC National Vice Chairman for the South-South region, also commended the delegates for the orderly and peaceful conduct of the congress, reflecting positively on the party’s unity and organization.
