Nigeria’s U-20 and U-17 women’s teams, the Falconets and Flamingos, are set to embark on their FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying journeys after being drawn against South Africa and Rwanda in key matchups.

The draw, held on December 13, 2024, in Cairo, Egypt, marks a significant step in their campaigns to secure spots at the global showpiece in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, 2025.

Falconets and Flamingos’ Paths to Morocco

The U-17 Flamingos will begin their quest in the second round, where they will face the winner of the first-round clash between Gabon and South Africa. Similarly, the U-20 Falconets await the victor of the first-round fixture between Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

With only four slots available for African teams at the Morocco 2025 Women’s World Cup, the qualifiers will be a rigorous test of skill, strategy, and determination. The African qualifiers will unfold in three knockout rounds, each played as home-and-away fixtures.
