The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled April 16th for the hearing of a lawsuit aiming to prevent former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, from participating in the party’s meetings.

This decision was made by Justice Inyang Ekwo, who also fixed the same date for a separate case filed to prevent Celestine Omehia, a sacked Rivers governor, from attending the PDP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting pending the resolution of the matter.

Titus Jones, a PDP member from Andoni Local Government Area, filed a suit to halt Secondus’s participation, citing his suspension from the party. Similarly, Precious Wobisike, from Ikwerre LGA, filed a suit against Omehia, seeking to restrain him from attending NEC meetings.

Both cases, represented by counsel Joshua Musa, sought injunctions against the defendants, including the NEC, NWC, and party officials, pending the determination of the issues.

The court had previously granted motions ex-parte, restraining Secondus and Omehia from attending the meetings until the substantive matters are resolved.

During the proceedings, Ibrahim Mark, representing Omehia, requested an adjournment to regularize their court documents, which was supported by M. S. Atolagbe, appearing for other defendants.

Musa did not oppose the application for adjournment, leading to Justice Ekwo adjourning the matter until April 16th for further hearing.
