15-Year-Old Kwara State Student Scores 362 in UTME

Olukayode Victor Olusola, a student of Government Secondary School, Omu Aran, Kwara State, has garnered widespread acclaim after achieving an impressive score of 362 marks in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Olukayode’s remarkable performance places him among the top contenders for the highest scorers in the examination, despite the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) decision not to disclose the highest scorer to prevent confusion.

The 95 marks scored by Olukayode in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, along with 77 marks in English Language, reflect his outstanding academic prowess and dedication to excellence. His achievement is particularly noteworthy against the backdrop of the widespread poor performance recorded in the UTME, with over 1.4 million candidates scoring below 200 marks out of 400.

Olukayode’s success serves as a beacon of hope for public education, which has faced challenges in recent years, while some private schools boast of exorbitant fees. Born in 2009, Olukayode aspires to pursue a degree in Electrical Electronic Engineering at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.

His mother, Beatrice Tosin, attributes his success to divine intervention and praises his diligent and hardworking nature. Olukayode’s achievement not only highlights his academic brilliance but also underscores the potential for excellence within the public education system.
