Saudi Arabia Reports Over 1,300 Fatalities During Hajj pilgrimage

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board has announced the sad news of two pilgrims who passed away in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

Saliu Mohammed, who arrived with Batch 3, died in a public hospital’s intensive care unit after a brief illness.

Hajia Hawawu Mohammed, part of Batch 9, tragically lost her life in an apparent suicide incident, according to Saudi authorities.

The Board expressed deep regret and submitted to Allah’s decree, offering condolences to the families of the deceased. They prayed for comfort and forgiveness for the departed two Kwara pilgrims.

This tragic news comes as worshippers remain barred from visiting the holy sites in Mecca and Medina, leaving mosques eerily empty for the first time in centuries.
