Breaking: Card Reader Fails At Gov Yahaya Bello’s Polling Unit

The INEC card reader has allegedly failed to accredit the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello at his polling unit in Kogi state.

Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello was at his polling unit, Unit 11, Agassa-Ahache Okene–Eba ward, in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State as early as 8.30am.

Governor Bello was accompanied to the polling unit by two of his wives, Hajia Rashida Bello and Hajia Amina Bello.

But unfortunately, the Governor could not be accredited as at the time of filing this report due to the malfunctioning of card reader.

Failures like these repeatedly occurred in past Nigerian elections. In 2015, the card reader failed to accredit the then sitting president, Goodluck Jonathan in his home town of Otueke in Bayelsa state.

INEC officials said that they are going to provide an alternative card reader.

The unit has total registered voters of 844, whose voting in the election depends on how soon INEC would provide an alternative reader for the area.
