Mother, 2 Children Rescued from Collapsed Building in Kano

On Friday, the Kano State Fire Service successfully rescued a woman and her two young sons after they were trapped in a collapsed building in the Makwarari area of Kano Municipal Local Government.

The Public Relations Officer of the State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Kano.

According to Abdullahi, the building, a one-storey residential structure measuring 30 by 40 feet, collapsed around 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

The victims, identified as 35-year-old Balaraba Abba and her two sons, Abdulnasir Jilani, 12, and Abdullahi Jilani, 9, were rescued alive by firemen who were swiftly dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call from one of their colleagues, Ibrahim Isah.

Following their rescue, the mother and her children were immediately taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital in the state for medical attention.
