Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State hailed the election process as peaceful, free, and fair.
Kaduna, Nigeria – The All Progressives Congress (APC) claimed a resounding victory in the Kaduna State local government elections, securing all 23 chairmanship seats and all 255 councillorship positions, as announced by the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (SEICOM) on Saturday evening.
Hajara Mohammed, Chairman of SEICOM, confirmed that eight political parties participated in the election, including the APC, PDP, LP, NNPP, ADC, APGA, PRP, and YPP. However, the APC emerged victorious in every local government area and ward.
“The electoral officers have submitted their reports, and the APC won all 23 local government chairmanship positions and all 255 councillorship seats,” Mohammed said. She added that the results were declared by the returning officers in accordance with the law.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State hailed the election process as peaceful, free, and fair. Speaking after casting his vote at LEA Kawo polling unit 047, the governor expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of the elections across the 23 local government areas.
“The elections have been generally free, fair, and peaceful, with only minor issues reported in three polling units and wards. The turnout was satisfactory, and the APC campaigned extensively across the state,” Governor Sani stated.
The governor further acknowledged that, as with any election, there are winners and losers but praised the peaceful nature of the process.
