Abeokuta, Nigeria – A 28-year-old woman, Yemisi Ogunlana, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly cutting her husband’s manhood during an argument in the Oko-Oba area of Ogijo.
The incident, which involved 31-year-old Idowu Adebowale, reportedly occurred on October 15 at around 4:30 a.m. According to a statement by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, Adebowale visited the Ogijo Police Division at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Monday to report the alleged assault.
Adebowale claimed that during a minor disagreement, his wife used a sharp object to inflict a severe cut on his manhood. He showed the officers the injury, revealing a deep cut near the tip of his penis.
Despite the severity of the wound, the victim had not sought medical attention until he reported the case. Police officers issued him a medical form and urged him to seek immediate treatment at a hospital.
The suspect, Yemisi Ogunlana, was taken into custody but denied the allegations during interrogation. Police spokesperson Odutola stated that the case has been referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation.
Odutola attributed the incident to uncontrolled anger, which escalated into domestic violence. The investigation is ongoing.
