Governor Fubara Addresses Political Crisis and Supports OPM Initiatives
Rivers State – Governor Siminalayi Fubara suggested that the ongoing political turmoil in Rivers State is primarily a struggle among opponents seeking control of the state’s resources. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to utilizing these resources responsibly for the public good.
Fubara’s remarks came during the 51st birthday celebration of Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), and the 18th anniversary of the ministry. The event took place at OPM’s headquarters in Mbodo, Aluu, near Port Harcourt.
“The underlying cause of this crisis is the battle for control over Rivers State’s resources,” Fubara stated. “These resources belong to the people, and we are dedicated to ensuring they are managed wisely to enhance the welfare of our state. We only ask for your continued prayers. We remain focused on our mission to serve the people, and with your support, we will achieve our governance objectives.”
The Governor praised Apostle Chinyere for OPM’s notable educational initiatives that provide children with vocational and technical training to prepare them for future employment. “Life is fundamentally about giving rather than taking,” he remarked. “For all that you have contributed to humanity, may God empower you further. We acknowledge the significant impact of your efforts.”
In a show of support for OPM’s infrastructure projects, Fubara announced a donation of N200 million, highlighting the church’s initiative to build a new facility for its television station. “On behalf of the government and the citizens of Rivers State, I am donating N200 million to support this important project,” he declared.
Fubara concluded by stating, “OPM has positively transformed many lives by empowering them, and in return, I am providing more resources for the advancement of Rivers State.” He expressed confidence in the strength gained from the prayers and backing of the community.
