Abuja, Nigeria – Former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a resignation letter dated November 29, 2024, and addressed to his ward in Anambra State, Chidoka expressed gratitude to the party while reaffirming his commitment to good governance, national unity, and honest public service.

Chidoka stated that he intends to focus his efforts on his non-governmental organization, the Athena Centre, which is dedicated to improving public policy and leadership in Nigeria.

“As I step away from active partisan politics, I remain committed to good governance, national unity, and evidence-based and honest public service,” Chidoka wrote. “I look forward to a future where I can once again contribute directly to the political landscape, aligned with the values I hold dear.”

The former minister thanked the PDP for its support over the years and wished the party success in its efforts to reposition itself as a positive force in Nigerian politics.

“I leave the PDP with immense respect and gratitude,” Chidoka noted. “I conclude with my lifelong mantra: our national aspiration of building a nation where no man is oppressed will be realized sooner rather than later.”

He expressed optimism for Nigeria’s future, emphasizing a vision of unity where ethnicity and religion do not hinder national progress.

Chidoka’s decision marks his transition from active partisan politics to focusing on broader national issues through advocacy and leadership initiatives.
