Former Big Brother Africa contestant, Elikem Kumordzie, has said that he paid $20,000 as a bride wealth to his former Zimbabwean wife, Pokello, contrary to the $25,000 dollars that was earlier reported.
He said even though some people may think the amount is big, he paid because his ex-wife deserved it, adding she had all the qualities he wanted in a wife.
According to the Ghanaian fashion designer who spoke to Eugene Osarfo Nkansah, the marriage which took place in 2015 did not work because of his mistakes.
“It was 20,000 dollars. I paid a deposit of 16,000 dollars. I have 4,000 more to go. I don’t know where the 25,000 dollars came about; they [the media] added 5,000 extra,” he said.
Elikem and Pokello, after publicly introducing themselves to the entertainment community as an item, got officially divorced in 2018.
Since the divorce, Elikem has talked about “irreconcilable” differences that caused their marriage.
In the meantime, Elikem says he lives with another woman, with whom they have a child but he has not decided to walk down the aisle with her yet.
