The Katsina State Hisbah Board has made a significant breakthrough in its efforts to promote good morals and discipline in the state, as it seized and destroyed a large quantity of illicit drugs and alcohol worth N60 million in the Funtua Local Government Area.
According to the Hisbah Commander in Katsina, Dr. Aminu Usman, the board’s operatives recently discovered and destroyed over 1,750 crates of alcohol and approximately 33 jerry cans of locally-brewed beer in Funtua. This is part of the board’s ongoing efforts to ensure that the state remains a haven for moral uprightness.
Dr. Usman commended the officials of the board for their dedication to duty and urged them to continue working tirelessly to achieve their goals. He also appealed to religious leaders in the state to support the board’s efforts, emphasizing that Hisbah is not affiliated with any particular group or sect.
The Hisbah Commander praised Governor Dikko Radda for his unwavering support for the board, which has enabled it to discharge its responsibilities effectively. He also appealed to members of the public to provide the board with information about places where immoral activities are carried out, and urged parents, teachers, and community leaders to come together to instill discipline and good morals in the youth.
The destruction of the seized contraband is seen as a major victory for the Hisbah Board, which is working towards creating a society where people live in harmony and respect each other’s values. The board’s efforts are expected to continue unabated, as it strives to make Katsina State a model for moral rectitude in Nigeria.
