In a coordinated operation, the FCT Police Command, in collaboration with the Guards Brigade and DSS hunters, stormed suspected bandit hideouts in Kaduna State, bordering the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and arrested four suspects.

The operation, which took place on June 7, 2024, at around 10:00 am, was carried out based on credible intelligence. The suspects, Yahaya Abubakar, Mohammed Mohamed, Umar Aliyu, and Nura Abdullahi, confessed to being members of a notorious bandit syndicate known as “Mai One Million.”

The syndicate is behind a series of kidnappings and other heinous crimes in the FCT and surrounding areas.

The operation resulted in a shootout between the bandits and security operatives, leading to the rescue of victims and the destruction of illegally erected structures in the camps.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, commended the security operatives for their efforts in the fight against criminality in the nation’s capital.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring the security and safety of FCT residents and urged the public to report suspicious activities through the police emergency lines.

The arrested suspects and rescued victims have been reunited with their families and loved ones. The police have also destroyed the bandits’ camps and dismantled their operations in the area.

This operation is a significant milestone in the fight against banditry and kidnapping in FCT, and the police have promised to continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety of all residents.
