Rivers Politics: Wike accuses APC of false promises pdp

The executive governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of riding onto power through false promises.

The governor disclosed this when he was speaking at a forum where he received a former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NNDC) and three others who defected from the All progressives congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor in his speech noted that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has not been able to fulfill most of its electoral promises five years after coming into office. The governor noted that the All progressive congress (APC) has shamed Nigerians and that people are not interested in the party or what they have to say.

The governor said that the administration of the ruling party has been filled with nothing but excuses and blame game which has kept many Nigerians disinterested in the party.

The governor noted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will change the narrative and things will be better and urged Nigerians not to continue in listening to the lies of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The have nothing for Nigerians, it is unfortunate.”

The governor also cited an instance where the ruling party said if it was voted for, it will build the East-West road and that up till as at the time of speaking, the road is in ruins.

The Rivers political space in the last couple of months have witnessed a series of defections from the All progressives party (APC) to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state.

A former Director-General of All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Organisation in the 2019 general election, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, sent huge shock waves to his party when he jumped ship to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, leaving the fragmented.

Reports Afrique had reported the defection of Hon. Sampson Parker, a former commissioner of health under the Rotimi Amaechi led administration and an ally of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.

Wike had earlier stated in the beginning of the year that the People’s Democratic Party is the only existing party in Rivers State.
