The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) announced on Thursday that its student loan application portal will go live on May 24, 2024.
This initiative is part of the government’s commitment to making education more accessible and inclusive for all Nigerian students.
According to NELFUND spokesman Nasir Ayitogo, “The management of Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), led by its Managing Director, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, is thrilled to announce the 24th of May, 2024, as the official date for the opening of the portal for student loan applications.”
The portal, which can be accessed at http://nelf.gov.ng, will allow students to apply for loans to support their academic pursuits without financial burdens.
NELFUND emphasized the portal’s user-friendly interface, designed to facilitate a seamless application process.
“We encourage all eligible students to take advantage of this opportunity to invest in their future and contribute to the growth and development of our nation,” the statement read.
This initiative represents a significant milestone in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s (GCFR) efforts to promote accessible and inclusive education across Nigeria.
