Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police Yetunde Longe as the first female Secretary of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to Force Public Relations Officer Olumuiya Adejobi, the appointment is a significant step towards achieving gender inclusivity and equality within the police force.
Longe brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role, with a background in Forensic Toxicology and a distinguished career spanning over three decades.
She has held various key positions, including Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lagos and Bauchi states, and Commissioner of Police for the Port Authority Police, Eastern Command, Port Harcourt.
The Inspector General of Police has reiterated his commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering female officers to attain leadership positions within the Force.
