VIDEO: Suspect Recounts How Alex Badeh Was killed

An armed robbery suspect, Shuaibu Rabi, says he was among those who killed Nigeria’s former Chief of Defense Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh (retd.).

In a video, Rabi, explained that they had gone to rob Badeh after learning he was coming to buy a piece of land in cash in Nasarawa state. Rabi said this while being interrogated by policemen in Hausa language.

The 25-year-old suspect said after killing Badeh, he and his friends stole a bag which contained a huge sum of money.

Rabi said, “What happened was that, on a certain day, my elder brother went to a market, where he met with one Churuma. Churuma told him that he got information that an old soldier (Badeh) wanted to buy a parcel of land but would be buying the land in cash.

The video obtained by The Punch shows the suspect recounting the incident in Hausa Language. In his statement of how Alex Badeh was killed, he mentioned that badeh tried to run over them with his car before he was shot dead by his gang of robbers.

Meanwhile, the family of the late CDS have refuted the claims in the video describing it as false and “cooked up story” to deceive the public.

The family further explains that the late Badeh was broke and did not have up to N500 cash on him the day he was assassinated.
