Inspector dismissed For Joining Robbers To steal N29.8m

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed Inspector Adabo Mohammed for participating in a robbery that netted N29.8 million from a victim in Abuja. Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi announced on Friday that this decisive action aligns with Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun’s zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline within the force.

Adejobi emphasized the administration’s commitment to maintaining professionalism and integrity, noting that all reported cases against personnel are thoroughly investigated and justice is served accordingly. Many officers have faced sanctions, and some cases are still pending before orderly room trials.

As part of these disciplinary actions, Inspector Adabo Mohammed was dismissed for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, and corrupt practices. Mohammed and five others were implicated in a robbery in Gwagwalada, FCT, where they stole N29.8 million. They were also involved in the kidnapping of Ikechukwu Emmanuel Okafor in Tunga Manje, for which they extorted a ransom of N4.4 million. Mohammed has been formally charged and will face court proceedings.
