Tinubu appeals to Wike to extend Abuja Metro Train Free Ride until December

President Bola Tinubu has called on FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to extend the free train rides on the Abuja Rail Mass Transit, also known as the Metro Rail, for an additional six months, continuing until the end of the year. This appeal was made during President Tinubu’s address at the inauguration ceremony for the commencement of operations of the Abuja Metro Rail on Wednesday.

Report Afrique reported earlier that Minister Wike had announced a two-month period of free train rides to alleviate commuting challenges for residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). However, President Tinubu urged an extension of this period to provide ongoing relief and optimism for the people of the FCT.

Addressing the audience, President Tinubu said, “I heard you mention a two-month free ride. I appeal to you to extend this until the end of the year. Offering continued free rides will give the people hope and reasons to celebrate.”
