Renowned Nollywood actor Zulu Adigwe has reportedly passed away, leaving fans and colleagues in mourning.


According to reports, Adigwe died on Tuesday evening, though the cause of his death has not been disclosed yet.

The sad news was announced via an Instagram post by movie producer Stanley Nwoko, who expressed deep regret over the loss of the veteran actor


“I regret to announce the passing of a veteran actor, late Mr. Zulu Adigwe. What caused his death is yet to be reviewed. Rest in peace, good actor,” Nwoko said.

Zulu Adigwe was well-known for his remarkable performances in popular Nollywood films such as “Living in Bondage” and “Breaking Free,” where he portrayed fatherly characters that resonated with audiences. His breakthrough role came as Mr. B in the beloved sitcom “Basi and Company.”

Adigwe was born in Enugu where he  spent his formative years into adulthood before moving to Austria, where he completed his primary and secondary education.


Despite his international journey, Adigwe remained a prominent figure in the Nigerian film industry, earning recognition and admiration for his contributions to Nollywood.

The passing of Zulu Adigwe marks another loss for Nollywood in 2024, adding to the list of esteemed actors who have bid farewell to the industry this year. Among them are Sisi Quadri, Mr. Ibu, Amaechi Muonagor, Andy Best, Jumoke Aderounmu, and Junior Pope.

As the entertainment community mourns the loss of Zulu Adigwe, his legacy as a talented actor and beloved figure in Nollywood will be remembered by fans and colleagues alike.
