Nigeria Customs Service commends Officers for Outstanding Performance

In a commendable display of recognition, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has honored two exemplary officers, Deputy Comptroller Mohammed Shaibu and Chief Superintendent of Customs Akpevwe Ogboru, for their exceptional contributions.

The ceremony, held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Customs Training College in Ikeja, Lagos, saw the Zonal Coordinator of Zone A, ACG Hammi Swomen, lauding the dedication and commitment of both officers in elevating the NCS’s reputation globally and enhancing operational efficiency.

ACG Swomen praised DC Shaibu as a proficient and professional officer, emphasizing his commendable abilities and capacity.

Similarly, he hailed CSC Ogboru as a positive role model for the service, noting her remarkable feat of traveling to 12 African countries on a motorcycle, which significantly promoted the image of the NCS.

In recognition of her outstanding riding skills and achievements, CSC Ogboru was presented with the latest version of the BMW F 850 GS bike by the service management, serving as both acknowledgment and encouragement for her future endeavors.

Emphasizing the importance of recognition in the service, Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration Adewale Sadiq described the event as a morale booster, highlighting the significance of acknowledging the efforts of dedicated officers.

During the ceremony, cautionary remarks were made regarding the responsible use of social media among officers, urging them to avoid the dissemination of restricted documents.

Expressing gratitude, Comptroller Caroline Ayo and Hussein Ejibunu encouraged both officers to maintain their commitment to duty.

The Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Service Training College, Ikeja, Deputy Comptroller Haniel Hadison, expressed appreciation to the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for the opportunity to host such a significant occasion, underscoring the inspirational impact of Ogboru’s dedication on the training of the girl child.

In response, both awardees expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Comptroller-General General of Customs for the recognition of their hard work and dedication.
